All Love

I have heard that all ‘love runs deep,

like a river, deeper than the darkest sea’

built on the foundation of harsh experiences

that make us who we are-

Strength, independence, self reliance,

there’s a fire that courses through my veins

and gives me the strength of a thousand men

and I will never give up no matter how lost,

how scared or tired I feel

I will stay true to myself

because all love –

has to start from within.

That Day

Do you remember the time we went looking for a ring I dropped?
You followed me blindly, peering under tables and chairs
-in a room bathed in twilight.
Knowing all along, I must have dropped it in the streets.
But still you helped me-
fatigued, crouched on small legs
wearing your grin and a defiant
sense of adventure.

That’s love.

    我曾聽說過
    愛
    都是根深蒂固的

    就像一條河
    卻比最陰暗的海
    還要深

    建基於苛刻的經驗和基礎

    其實我一直也知道
    自己定必是把它遺了在某個街頭
    但你仍予以幫助

    即使經已疲憊
    那對帶着你笑容及挑釁冒險的小小雙腿
    還是蹲了下來

    這 就是愛

  4. 阿榮老師，看了句子很想譯，譯得很疏，有點強加已意，前兩句有詩意，後兩句就只硬生生譯成句了。

    如是我聞，愛皆彌深，宛如河，深似海，
    歷盡艱辛始築成，塑我以彌堅，塑我以獨行，靈根自植。
    身化熊熊火，能作萬人敵，無失之以損、無失之以懼，更休說倦。
    如是我，將唯言不二，
    蓋情愛皆發於已。

    又第一首詩用上英語語法的Relative Clause，看著感到有趣，3個that，是因為要將兩句連在一起，減去了重覆書寫It… , It… , It… 。若果再譯上一次的話，大抵我會將，這些that全部減去，將It…, it…, it… 寫出來，那麼排比寫，好像才有點詩意。
